Spend an evening with world-renowned psychiatrist Dr. Blaise Aguirre learning how to develop your listening skills, set appropriate boundaries and balance your wants and needs to get more out of all your interactions—at home, at work and in life.

This discussion is geared toward parents and educators, and Dr. Aguirre will share some of his tools of the trade to help you teach your children how to maintain self-respect in the face of peer pressure and learn to stand confidently in their own feelings and beliefs. Dr. Aguirre will also guide participants in using positive reinforcement techniques to motivate children toward desired behaviors, without punishments and tears.

Dr. Aguirre is a psychiatrist at McLean Hospital, specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on identifying negative thinking patterns and working toward positive behavioral change, particularly through validation and relationships. Dr. Aguirre is the founding medical director of 3East Girls intensive and Step-Down program at McLean. He is the author of seven books and serves on multiple boards, including the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls and HANAH.
