As the snow starts to melt and the sights and sounds of spring begin to appear, it won’t be long before school is out. After a few weeks of downtime, teens are ready to get out of the house and hang out with their friends.

Let’s take a look at some great opportunities for your teens and their friends in and around the Greater Boston area.

Tree Top Adventures

Time to gear up for some above-ground fun about 20 minutes from Boston, in Canton. Teens and their friends can take advantage of some outdoor fun on their trials, with obstacles including:

  • Zip lines
  • Ladders
  • Rolling logs
  • Bridges
  • Tightropes
  • And more

There are 10 different trails to choose from, with a range of difficulty levels from beginners to experts. For a unique climbing and zip-lining experience, they may want to try the nighttime climbing and glow program, where teens can experience the courses in a whole new light!

Group discounts are available, including the Treetop 10-Packs, for 10-20 participants. What a great way to bond with friends while saving money!

Concord River rafting with Zoar Outdoor

There’s nothing like a white-water rafting trip on the Concord River on a hot summer day. A 30-minute drive north of Boston to Lowell is the beginning of up to four hours on the river.

Teens 14 and up can enjoy a guided trip with five to seven of their friends in class III and IV rapids for a day they won’t soon forget. Trips begin at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., so they work well for early risers and teens who don’t describe themselves as morning people.

Before hopping in the car, they should be sure to book online, sign the waivers and look over the clothing requirements. And keep in mind, everything that goes into the raft will get wet!

North End pizza tour with Binge on Boston

After climbing through the treetops and conquering the rapids, some pizza with a walking tour is an excellent shift in activity level. This activity is open for all ages and begins at the Tony DeMarco Statue in Boston’s historic North End.

Learn about the history from our area at sites such as:

  • Clough House at Old North (Boston’s oldest standing church)
  • Copp’s Hill Burying Ground (Did you know it’s connected to the Salem witch trials?)
  • Copp’s Hill Terrace

What could be better than a fact-filled tour situated right between pizza and an amazing local cannoli? And don’t worry, when booking a tour, your teen will have the opportunity to choose between traditional, gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan pizza!

Escape the Room Boston

Even during the best summer, rainy days are inevitable. Your teens can work on their problem-solving skills in a group setting at Escape the Room Boston.

All of the games are private. Teens can choose between games with eight players or 10 players. It’s a lot of fun packed into an hour as they use clues and hints to strategize and crack the code together and become escapees.

Check their site for the most up-to-date information on the available games and book a fun experience!
