Infuse intentionality and effective pedagogical techniques into teaching about Israel with The iCenter.

In today’s climate, it is essential to have trained educators and engagement professionals providing tools and support to Jewish students. In order to accomplish this, educators working on the front lines must possess rich knowledge and tools for bringing Israel into the hearts and minds of Jewish youth and young adults.

This five-session series from Combined Jewish Philanthropies and The iCenter presents a pivotal opportunity to fulfill pressing needs within the Jewish educational landscape in Boston.

Session 4: Values in Tension in Today’s World

This program facilitates structured dialogues between participants who hold opposing views on divisive issues. The aim is to foster mutual understanding among individuals who have reasonable but conflicting values and perspectives, whether the topic is more local, around current events in Israel, or anywhere in between. Through facilitated discussion, storytelling, and relationship-building activities, participants with clashing worldviews learn communication techniques to engage across moral divisions constructively, find common ground, and affirm their commitments. Values in Tension emphasizes “pro-pluralism”—seeking human good by engaging diversity. By promoting cooperation over absolutism, the program exemplifies The iCenter’s mission to reduce polarization and bridge entrenched societal divides stemming from moral diversity.

Session topics are subject to change as the situation in Israel evolves.

This is part of a series of programs with The iCenter for educators and engagement professionals who work with teens, campus and young adults. While it is not required to attend all sessions, sessions build on each other and we recommend full participation. Contact Leah for more information.
