The 2021-22 JTI Peer Leadership Fellows Peer Engagement Cohort is offered in partnership with Hillel Council of New England and the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Funder Collaborative.
Jacob Aizanman is a junior at Marblehead High School, where he plays golf, hockey and tennis. He is a member of the community at Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead, enjoys all sports and loves to meet new people.
Tamar Arons-Brann is a sophomore at Newton North High School, where she is a member of the school orchestra and Girls Who Code. Tamar is part of the community at Congregation Dorshei Tzedek in Newton, enjoys playing violin, dancing and spending time with friends and family.
Ellie Black is a sophomore at Dana Hall, where she is involved in Kesher and enjoys dancing and playing field hockey. Ellie is a member of Temple Shalom in Newton, volunteers for Jewish Family Service of Metrowest and is very excited to meet new people.
Jordan Book is a senior at Framingham High School, where he is involved in cross-country, ski team and track. He enjoys baseball and solving the Rubik’s cube. Jordan is a member of Temple Beth Am in Framingham and spends his summers at Camp Tel Noar. One interesting thing about him is that he is both a mountain biker and skier.
Aviva Bornstein is a sophomore at Marblehead High School, where she is involved with Best Buddies, Interact Club and Team Harmony. She enjoys playing on her school’s field hockey, volleyball, track and tennis teams. Aviva is a member of Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead and spends her summers at Camp Tevya.
Jeremy Cohen is a senior at the Boston Latin School, where he is involved in the Jewish Club and Dress for Success Club. Jeremy enjoys playing basketball, baseball and football. He is a member of Temple Israel of Boston and spends his summers at Camp Kingswood in Maine. He’s always been known for being super organized, and he even used to make personalized schedules for himself and his friends.
Jada Cohen is a sophomore at Gann Academy, where she is involved as a student ambassador, the founder of Senior Connections Club and plays ultimate frisbee and volleyball. Jada loves to competitively swim and babysit. She is a member of Shaarei Tefillah in Newton, has spent the last five summers at Camp Yavneh and loves to connect with people of all backgrounds.
Teddy Friedman is a freshman at Gann Academy. Teddy enjoys playing and listening to music, is the bassist in Air Society and enjoys playing and watching sports. His favorite sport is baseball but he will happily talk about any sports. Teddy is a member of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley and spent the summer in Israel.
Leah Koritz is a senior at Gann Academy, where she writes for a newspaper and literary magazine and is involved with Girls Who Code. She enjoys writing, hiking and playing soccer and softball. Leah is a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Needham and is so excited for her third year as a Jewish Teen Initiative Peer Leadership Fellow.
Ellie Levine is a sophomore at Swampscott High School, where she is a member of the cheer team. Ellie has been a competitive gymnast for the past nine years and loves to read a good book or watch an addictive TV series. She is a member and madricha (teaching assistant) at Temple Shirat Hayam in Swampscott and has spent her summers at Camp Tevya. Ellie is an active member in the Jewish community and, as N’siah of her BBYO chapter, she loves to include everyone in all of the exciting opportunities nearby.
Shira Lobron is a sophomore at Newton North High School, where she is involved in her school’s newspaper, theater program and climate collective club. Shira likes to ski, play soccer and tennis and is a member of Temple Shalom of Newton. She spends her summers at Camp Ramah New England and enjoys caring for her pet rabbit, Buzz.
Jaden Odorczuk is a sophomore at Swampscott High School and is a member of Temple Emanu-El in Marblehead. He plays soccer and enjoys learning about technology. Jaden participated in a leader-in-training program at Camp Rotary.
Julius Pieper is a sophomore at Brookline High School. He is a member of Temple Israel in Boston, where he is involved in The Tent teen community. Julius enjoys photography and plays the bassoon and piano.
Ben Resnick is a junior at Needham High School, where he is involved in Take Back the Night and serves as vice president of his class. Ben enjoys playing soccer and tennis, as well as hanging out with friends. He is a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Needham and spends his summers at Camp Tevya.
Laci Robbins is a sophomore at Lynnfield High School. She enjoys basketball, volleyball and hanging out with friends. Laci attends Temple Ner Tamid in Peabody and, if given the opportunity, could live off Chipotle for the rest of her life.
Julia Robbins is a sophomore at Needham High School, where she is involved in student government and various clubs. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and playing music. She is a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Needham.
Charlotte Roiter is a senior at Algonquin Regional High School. She is involved in DECA, Interact Club and Israel Club, and enjoys softball, running and hanging out with friends. She is a member of Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough, attends Camp Kadimah and serves on the WAFTY (youth group) board.
Lily Schwartz is a sophomore at Dana Hall, where she plays volleyball and is a member of the Kesher club. Lily is on the dance team at Linx (now Momentum Dance), is a member of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley and became a bat mitzvah in Israel.
Ben Sharon is a junior at Framingham High School, where he plays soccer and basketball. He enjoys spending time outdoors and with family, in addition to playing sports with friends. Ben is a member of Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland, where he assists in teaching Hebrew school classes, and spends his summers at Camp Tevya.
Louise Shiner is a junior at Newton South High School, where she is a member of HOSA (future health care providers), LigerBots mentoring program and the fishing club. Louise spends her summers at Camp Tevya and enjoys connecting with others.
Brianna Tuchin is a junior at Needham High School. She is on her BBYO executive chapter board and enjoys hanging out with friends. Brianna is a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Needham and spends her summers at Camp JORI.
Ilana Weinstock is a freshman at Needham High School, where she is a member of the SALSA Club. Ilana loves to dance and play tennis, is a member of Temple Aliyah in Needham and spends her summers at Camp Ramah. She is an alumna of The Rashi School and in her free time does the flying trapeze.
