Apply now to join the social entrepreneurship internship program for high school students. You’ll get trained in the following modules:
- Marketing
- Writing
- Research/Analytics
- Fundraising
Two months will be spent on each module. There will be four teams of two to five people on each. We will spend two months on each module, practicing skills on Jookender Community Initiatives, Inc., and then each team has a month to help any nonprofit cause of their choice.
You’ll be working with your team on a weekly basis. Team meetings, onsite and through Zoom (a free application that works on all computer and mobile devices) will be assigned by your team leaders based on availability and scope of work. Once a month, we will all be in contact through Zoom to share our hard work. Once-a-month meetings (dates TBD) will last about two hours.
The program is completely free to attend and each student receives a certificate, a document with community hours and signed papers for the internship, should you get approved by your school or college for that.
It requires two to five hours a week of your time, and those hours are very flexible based on your schedule and availability.
There will be an element of competition for the teams. At the end, the winning team receives a monetary bonus for their participation.
The program lasts nine months, October through June, and requires a nine-month commitment. The registration deadline is Sept. 30, 2019.
