Israeli Cuisine Cooking Demo: Lahmacun

Join us to learn how to make lahmacun (thin piece of dough with meat topping). You’ll need to prepare the dough before the event. The event is in English and Russian.

Dough:

  • 500 grams flour
  • 1 Tbsp. dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ⅓ cup oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 egg for brushing the dough

Topping:

  • 400 grams ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ⅓ tsp. sugar
  • ½ tsp. turmeric
  • Dash cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. chicken seasoning
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

For the dough: Dissolve the yeast in water and sugar for 10 minutes. Mix flour, salt and oil together, then add yeast mixture. Let rise for 1.5-2 hours covered with a dry dish towel.
